That spammers lie. Or rather their SMTP servers lie about who they are. So the only information you have to go on is the IP address that they're coming in from. Which, of course, is only known (and validated) at connection time. The IP address is then checked against the various "blackhole" lists.
This is why the Domino anti-spam stuff isnt doing what you want it to do. By the time you've got it, the spammer has been and gone. And probably moved IP address to somewhere new.
So - what you could do is:
1. Ask, your ISP to filer spam out of your mail.
or
2. Run your incoming mail via some spam filtering service such as spamcop
or
3. Point the incoming SMTP feed directly at your domino server (which will make the spam work, sure - but you lose your backup)...
Which is the most relevant/simple/cost effective for your situation ?
